Our names are Don and Judy Martin and we reside in Chesterfield, Virginia located right outside the city of Richmond, VA. Don is a retired law enforcement officer who works part time as a door greeter at the local Wal-Mart Super Center. Judy is a retired procurement officer for a mentally and physically handicapped work shop.
We became interested in Italian Greyhounds, also known as I G s, after the death of our toy French Poodle in the mid 1990s. We obtained our first male I G, blue in color with white markings, from a breeder in Missouri. The name given him was Martea' Blu Di Wrexham and nicknamed Marty. Marty required so much one on one attention and would not allow us to sit without throwing toys for him to retrieve. Upon advise from our vet we decided to get Marty a playmate. Our second I G, a female seal in color with white markings, came from a breeder in Nebraska. We named here Bella Gamba Di Wrexham. Bella has white legs which look like boots which brought about her name. Bella in Italian means beautiful and Gamba means legs...beautiful legs.
We decided to try dog breeding as a hobby. Marty sired five puppies the first time with Bella. The color of the litter were black, blue fawn, and blue. The blue fawn was named Marty Massimo Di Wrexham and has been on the dog show circuit needing only his major to become a champion.
Marty and Bella's second litter totaled five with the colors ranging from blue, blue fawn, red fawn, and seal.
We decided to obtain a second female, white with black ears, for breeding purposes from a breeder in Missouri. She was name Martin Sophia Di Wrexham. Sophia and Marty have mated twice. The first litter of seven ranged in color from blue, red fawn, blue fawn, and black. Their second litter of six were blue and blue fawn in color.
We do not breed every year but alternating times of breeding.
We require a contract upon purchasing a dog from us.
A number of people who have purchased one of our dogs has purchased a second dog once they find our the nature of these animals.
